Here is a Thank You letter that Tom wrote:
Thank you ALL!
I have spent the past the last 43 years, since I was 13, connected to the "Beautiful Game". From the first time I played to this day my passion for this game has not changed but grown more intense as I grew older. I feel very fortunate that I have had the privilege to experience all aspects this sport has had to offer. Playing, coaching, officiating and just being a spectator have been fulfilling. But the most rewarding part of this experience was creating a venue for players to play and nurturing it so it will remain for all as it was intended.
This was not done alone but with many of you who share the passion I have and I thank you! The friends I have made over the years I will never forget. Roger, Lorie, Ann, Terry, Jamie, Deb and Randy you are the heart and soul of this league now and I leave knowing the WFLYSL will continue to flourish. I can’t thank you enough for your time and commitment you have given. And as you know, the WFLYSL will not continue to flourish without the support and dedication it has had from the hundreds of players, coaches, coordinators and referees since it’s creation. I thank them all and will never forget them!
I also want to thank everyone who was a part of the giving of the wonderful gifts I received this past Sunday at our 2009 Year End Wrap-Up Meeting. This was totally unexpected but truly appreciated! The Lowes gift card could not have come at a better time. It will be put to good use as I wrap up my summer projects at home. The gift certificate to the Aurora Inn was a real surprise! Who else knew about this wonderful place? Kerry and I will truly enjoy this getaway! But when I opened the gift box and read " A brick has been purchased in your honor at the Rhino’s Stadium Walk of Fame" well I was just blown away! Being appreciated just took on a whole new meaning! Thank you, thank you, thank you!
You will all remain in my heart and the memories I share with you from this "Beautiful Game"!
Take care and I know our paths will cross in the future. I will look forward to that time.
seeYA!
